Hello every body!!!!!!

I want you to know about the experience i have had in my first months at Centro Cultural Salvadoreño Americano:
My first days were challenging because i did not know anybody, in fact, i did not know anybody to spend time with; but in the propedeutico course i met many people! Also, i knew the teaching method that the teachers implement during the classes. To be honest with you, in the beginning i wanted to change of university; never theless teachers and classmates changed my mind and i decided to continue here. I like the way teachers teach the classes. They are very dynamic, active and we can express our opinions and ideas freely. Later on, I joined to Cultural Academic Committe and i participated on welcome the American Ambassador Murphy, who is an important figure of the United States of America. So far, i have enjoyed being part of the Culteral Academic Committee.

Visit of Sean Murphy.

My experience so far in the Cultural Academic Committee of the IENS CCSA has been a been awesome! It has been a way to expend my life time as a university student. At first, I believed that it was waste of time, but as time was passing by (like a month after I joined) I understood the importance of being part of this group, beacuse of all the important activities. An example of this, is the last activity we did as a team.

Yesterday, my friends from the Committee and I,  made a  huge welcome celebration to  Sean Murphy, who is a new member of the American Embassy in charge of the business on the Embassy. In fact, he looked very happy to be at IENS  with us. The experience was really exiting! I felt happy to participate on it, and also worked on the preparation that my friends and I had to go through before Sean came. For instance, we decorated the room with paper of many colors on the walls and doors, so it can all looked pretty.

Finally, I want to say that I realy hope to participate in more activities of the Cultural Academic Committe and I am very proud to be part of such an amazing group.

CineForum IENS

November 6, 2011

Cineforum was one the best co curricular activities yet during the second semester 2011, due to it’s organization and dynamic, we played it simple, and strategically; we did some brainstorming and we worked as a team.

So that’s why the success of the activity. In other words it was something different that caught the attention of everyone with the simple idea of passing videos about motivation and group reflexion. Once again, we proved ourselves of what we are capable of doing when we work as a team. Thank you all for your participation, and remember everyone is welcome to join us.

We did have an excited week collecting supplies to help the ones affected by the rain. Here are some comments of the members of the Cultural- Academic Committee that were giving us a hand in this awesome project:

“It was a good experience because I could realize about the need of people affected by the rain. I learned to appreciate what I have, because there were other people who do not have anything”
René Gerardo Melgar

“I consider it was a good and beautiful experience, because I felt good after helping the people that needed some kind of support. As some people say – Today for you, and tomorrow for me”
Paz Ramírez

“It was an amazing experience, because I had the opportunity to help other people that suffered from the last storm. And I think that it is an obligation as salvadoreans”
Mindy Palomo

“I was part of the activity and I felt really nice because we were collecting food, clothe, medicine and other important supplies for people in need and people were helping with their donations. It was a good experience and the most important thing is that the most affected people were helped”
Guillermo García

“I consider the solidarity activity was a positive experience for all of us. Helping others is priceless. I hope that we can keep on doing this kind of activities in the future. As future teachers should be alwa        ys be up to help the ones that need it the most”

First Activity of the Cultural Committee IENS CCSA: Who wants to be millionaire?
- By Guillermo García

On September 13th, the first activity organized by the Cultural Committee IENS CCSA was held in the multipurpose room. With the imagination and creativity of the members of the committee.  We adapted the famous TV contest “Who wants to be millionaire?” and made a fun game with questions related to the Bicentenary of the Salvadorian Independence, in order to commemorate the national festivities in this month.

We had the participation of students from all years, teachers, and the authorities of IENS CCSA. The activity helped for everyone to remember the relevant points of the history of the Independence of El Salvador, and also contributed to the integration of the educational community.

To start the game, four groups were divided randomly by colors, and they had to choose three representatives to answer the questions, while the others were encouraging them, and cheering  them up. They were pretty excited as they were clapping, and yelling! They also had balloons, posters and other kinds of creations. Everyone participated and had fun as they learned more about the facts of our independence.

The contest was really tied between all the groups, but at the end only one had to prevail. After moments of learning, discussion, tension, excitement, and laughing the green group was the winner thanks, in part, to the enthusiastic cheers of their group. Finally, they were awarded with diplomas and prizes sponsored by IENS CCSA.

The activity was completely a success because of the effort of every member of the committee and the most important thing is that everyone enjoyed it! Meanwhile, we will be organizing more activities like this one to share it with all of you.  Have fun!

Hello everyone! This is Jennifer back! I am so glad that we are working hard every week to have great activities for the students! All your effort is well appreciated! As well as your cooperation and participation.

I encourage you to write on the wall! Tell us how your experience was, how was the organization of the project, what did you like about it? What you did not like about it? Funny facts! Interesting facts about the activity! This is an open space for you to express yourself! You just need to send me an email (to Hotmail, or either Facebook) and I will put it in here right away!

I am expecting to hear from all of you really soon!

Regards!
